Instant Aspen: Winter Vacation TipsIf you’re here in winter, it’s sure that you’ll be looking for snow-related fun. If you’re planning to take advantage of our world-class skiing and snowboarding, remember that Aspen has four beautiful mountains to choose from, each with its own special character and interest. But don’t pre-judge anything – quiet Buttermilk has the gnarliest terrain parks anywhere (it has been the home of the Winter X Games for years) and Highlands with its iconic Bowl is also home to perfectly groomed intermediate runs – and that’s just scratching the surface. To order lift tickets and other Aspen/Snowmass products online and have them delivered to your doorstep, visit http://store.aspensnowmass.com/estore/ or call the Aspen/Snowmass advance sales department at (970) 923-1227 or (877) 282-7736 toll free. Be sure to mention "lodge delivery" when ordering.
Why not take a lesson or clinic? Even if you’re a first-class skier or boarder, you’ll learn something new and have gotten tips, tricks and trails from one of our fantastic pros. One thing is certain, whatever your skill level or interest, you’ll leave Aspen with an astounding mountain experience that will change you forever.
If you’re not a skier – or even if you are – why not plan on some other snowy activities? Nordic or cross-country skiing is a fantastic way to burn some calories and luxuriate in our beautiful scenery. The place to begin is the Aspen Nordic Center, based on the public golf course just a minute outside town (it’s on the free bus route too). With 100km of free trails, we have one of the largest systems in the United States and it’s beautifully maintained too. There’s another center at the Snowmass Golf Club. Advanced lessons, equipment rental and clothing are all available at both places. Visit www.aspennordic.com to find grooming reports, trail maps and other information.
For any outdoor pursuit imaginable – hiking (including uphill skinning during snow seasons), backcountry adventures as well as Nordic skiing and much more, visit the new, much enlarged Ute Mountaineer in downtown Aspen where the friendly, expert staff will advise and help you. Try snowmobiling through our majestic backcountry with the experienced operators at T-Lazy 7 Ranch. Oh, and it doesn't all have to be ‘hard-core’ – there’s nothing like a stroll along the Rio Grande Trail even in winter, feasting an eye on the scenery as you go, to give you an instant dose of Aspen
