Instant Aspen: Getting Around

We almost didn’t bother writing this section – Aspen is so small and convenient that most of what you need is right here on the doorstep or just a short ride away. Oh, and our frequent, efficient bus service is absolutely free around town and between all four ski areas, so be green and don’t bother with the car. If you fancy taking a trip, car rental outlets are available at the Aspen Airport and there are a number of taxi services. To be an instant Aspenite, rent a bike from one of the numerous excellent bike shops around town, or don your lycra and find a pro to go road or mountain bike riding with. Some of the best cyclists in the world, including a certain Mr. Armstrong, train here (he lives here too). Or just walk – there’s no better way to explore our town.
