Spring Newsletter 2013

IS SPRING COMING?!
What a difference a year makes! Last March and April spring and dry weather came very early and continued into the summer. Thankfully, this year March was what we usually expect with snow off and on all month and more normal temperatures. Conditions on the slopes were excellent. And then came April! Early April brought in the biggest storms of the winter season (even though it is supposed to be spring!) with snow just coming and coming in huge amounts. Thankfully the ski season extended until April 27 giving the locals who are not going out of town something to do. We do hope that it stops soon and we will get some real spring weather to enjoy before the summer is here. We are all excited though to have the moisture for the rivers and reservoirs. No one wants to go through another drought summer with fire danger looming all the time. Also this wonderful moisture should make for exciting rafting and kayaking when the time comes.

SUMMER ACTIVITIES
Now, on to dreaming about the summer to come—definitely an awesome time to be in Aspen. For some locals, they love it even more than the winter. From the spring time flowers to the yellow fall colors, Aspen has a wonderful mix of adventures throughout these times.

Summer activities for the cultural set include Theatre Aspen, the Aspen Music Festival (8 weeks long!), Santa Fe Ballet, Ideas Festival, Snowmass Summer of Free Music Series and more. Take note of the events listed on the other side of the page and refer to the Aspen Chamber Resort Associations’ website at www.aspenchamber.org for more information.

For those seeking peace and quiet, you can be sure to experience that on an early morning hike, yoga on the mountain, fishing, a serene walk along the river, reading a book on a park bench, or taking the gondola to the top of Aspen Mountain for a hike or to relax and take in the magnificent views.

And for you adventure junkies, remember we have some of the most challenging road biking and mountain biking around. A variety of hiking is everywhere from moderate to steep. There is always a way to keep in shape whether you plan to or not.

LIFT ONE NEWS
Currently we have a one bedroom listed for sale. It has a prime location in the building—top floor facing Aspen Mountain, lots of sunshine, with an excellent rental history. Please call our office and speak with Mac Boelens or email him and he will share the details with you.

We have heard from many of you regarding your summer vacations and we are so happy to have you back. Currently late July and early August have been highly requested but we still have space most of the summer. Weekly rates are available enabling you to get a free night! Come join the fun at Lift One either around the pool or hot tub, have a cookout around the barbeque, or get out and enjoy the Aspen experience. Please also remember what a great month September is to come visit with lower rates, less people in town, and still plenty to do in the mountains especially when the leaves begin changing colors.

WE HOPE TO SEE YOU THIS SUMMER SEASON 2013! Call 1-800-543-8001 for your summer reservation or email us.
