Great news once again for the Aspen area and for all of us who anxiously wait for another season on the slopes to begin. Because of the early snowstorms, Aspen Mountain was able to open for the weekend of November 14 and 15 and then reopen again for the season on November 21 along with Snowmass. It’s so nice to get things started earlier than planned and we hope our good luck with these storms continues throughout the winter. This could be just the beginning of a great winter ahead.
Over Thanksgiving weekend, Aspen will host the Women’s World Cup races on Aspen Mountain. Events will include a slalom and giant slalom with USA’s own Lindsay Vonn and Mikaela Shiffrin in attendance. Both are powerhouse skiers to be reckoned with and the locals will be out in force to cheer them on. Many social activities in connection with the World Cup will also be taking place.
More terrain will be opening on December 12 when Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk will start up their lifts. There is something for every skier and snowboarder between these four great mountains. The views from the summits are as incredible as the variety of slopes. If you are not an Alpine Skier or snowboarder, you can still ride the Silver Queen Gondola on Aspen Mountain to see all the action, perhaps do a guided snowshoe excursion or just have a delicious lunch at the top. The Elk Camp Gondola at Snowmass is available to ride to lunch as well.

Aspen Mountain will be open until April 17, Snowmass and Aspen Highlands until April 10 and Buttermilk until April 3.
See you soon!
